Intro to the Kosher Cruiser

I figured since I am starting I blog I should give a little bit of background about me.

I am a Modern Orthodox Jew who enjoys cruising. I have been on several cruises, and find it to be the most enjoyable and cost effective way to cruise. Often times the price of the cruise can be the same as just a hotel in some destinations, but includes all the food you can eat, as well as providing your lodging, and transportation.

I have never done a “kosher cruise” and usually stick to a traditional cruise. The kosher cruises are typically double the price, if not more. There is a ton of options on a regular cruise for a kosher cruiser, I just do not find the advantage of added cost.

Since I have cruised multiple times I often am asked questions about various things regarding kosher food or managing on board on Shabbos. I decided to start this blog to share my thoughts with everyone.

Like any other form of travel, cruising can be complicated with Shabbos and Kashrut. I hope to share from my experiences information that will making cruising easier for you and easier to plan. Please keep in mind everything is posted based on my experiences and my understanding, so always ask to see packaging on the boat and ask your rabbi if you have any questions on what I write!
